You’ve studied the Lonely Planet language section: you know how to ask, but you don’t understand the answers. You’ve talked to your fellow expatriots: they have told you not to bother, the language is too complicated and everybody speaks English anyway. Ah, the joys of living internationally. It can be maddening, but if you’ve done it before, you know it’s fun. The courses we offer start at the zero beginner level and continue with elementary and intermediate levels to advanced levels. For all levels we have prepared authentic listening and reading materials and just the right amount of communication and grammar exercises. Materials include newspaper articles, extracts from films, short stories, poems, songs, radio programmes etc. Courses: Beginners basic vocabulary: introductions, days of the week, nationalities, food, flat, body. Some important adjectives. Verb ‘biti’ ‘to be’. Simple sentence structure. Duration: 30 hours. Elementary: Some important irregular verbs. The present tense of the verbs (type delati – delam).. Descriptions of peole and places. Prepositions of place. Basic grammar of the noun. Declension: the nominative, genitive and accusative. The imperative. Vocabulary: getting around. talking to your doctor, telling the time, ecology, health. Duration: 40 hours. Intermediate: Verb-revision. Declension-revision. personal and possessive pronouns. Conditional clauses. Relative pronouns. Conjunctions. Vocabulary: arts and crafts, agriculture, small enterprises and corporations, legends from different regions of Slovenia. Duration: 40 hours.
